Steve Blair
Steve Blair helped out in Regent Park Focus's satilite program in O'Connor (The O'Connor Media Lab). He now works for a film festival in Peterborough.
Vinh Duong
Vinh Duong graduated in systems networking technologies at Centennial College. He began as a participant and then graduated to become a youth instructor in the Regent Park Focus programs. He taught video and audio work and assists in all other areas of the Multimedia Arts Program. Vinh provided invaluable technical support to the program and has also produced several award-winning videos.
Bo Wen Chan
Bo Wen used to be one of the cheif Catch da Flava editors. She now designs and sells jewlery, independently.
Michelle Cho
Michelle joined Regent Park Focus as a participant in 1996, quickly rising up the ranks to become a full-time video production coordinator. Michelle contributed to all areas of the program including laying out several issues of Catch da Flava Newspaper and hosting radio shows. Michelle called it quits in 2000 and went on to do an internship with a grassroots community radio station in South Africa. Michelle is currently a coordinator for Canada World Youth and spends most of her time in rural Ontario.
Chris Akinbode
Chris joined Regent Park Focus as a participant in 1996. Chris quickly emerged himself in everything related to editing. In 1999 Chris moved on to become a full-time production coordinator at Globalhood, a youth video production organization that no longer exists. After Globalhood, Chris took a stab at the world of independent filmmaking and has produced a number of excellent videos.
Nigel Holdbrook
Nigel joined Regent Park Focus as a participant in 1996. Nigel quickly developed an eye for the camera and it wasn't long before he decided to go to Centennial College to take Film Production. Nigel's three years of experience with Regent Park Focus came in handy and his skills earned him admiration and respect among his peers. Upon graduating Nigel landed a job as a segment producer for MuchMusic.
Kai James
Kai's father forced him to join Regent Park Focus in the summer of 1996. Kai came back on his own in 1997, 1998, and 1999. Kai's leadership qualities were evident from the start, and more often than not, he appointed himself director of every production he was involved in. One of Kai's claims to frame is that he came up with the name "Catch da Flava." Kai is currently pursuing engineering at the University of Toronto.
Ayan Egal
Ayan participated in Regent Park Focus from 1997 to 1999. Ayan's cheerful disposition and creative script-writing skills made her an important team member to have around. Ayan left Regent Park Focus to attend York University. Upon graduation, she got a position with a large insurance company.
André Walsh
André participated in the media arts program in 1998. He later moved from Regent Park and went on to pursue his video interests with 4Unity in Parkdale. He's been taking Cinema Studies at U of T since 2004 and doing acting on the side. He hopes to become a director.
Kelvin Mohadeo
Kelvin was attending the International Academy of Design & Technology when the word got out that Regent Park Focus was looking for youth radio hosts. Kelvin jumped at the opportunity to express his gift of the gab by taking on the role of anchor for Catch da Flava radio from 1998 till 2000. Kelvin left Catch da Flava to take a high-paying job in Florida as a web designer and was last seen on the television reality "The 5th Wheel."
Helen Choi
Helen joined Regent Park Focus in 2001, while attending the art program at Central Technical High School. Helen took an interest in participating in the weekly Sunday afternoon discussion meetings and writing for Catch da Flava newspaper. Helen's newfound interest in journalism was cemented when she obtained an intern position at Flow radio. Helen was active in the program for about a year before moving to Ottawa to attend Carlton University's School of Journalism.
Shameer Arsari
Shameer joined the media arts program in 2002. Shameer's interests were in photography and hosting shows on Catch da Flava Radio. He obtained a full scholarship to U of T and is currently an active member of the Toronto Youth Cabinet.
Riel Moxon-Emre
Riel spent two years in the Regent Park Focus Multimedia Arts Program as a participant before graduating in 2002 to become a video production instructor. He was then promoted to Graphic Design and Layout Coordinator for Catch da Flava newspaper. Riel graduated from Ryerson University's New Media program in the spring of 2004 and obtained a job in the fall as a graphic/marketing designer for a telecommunication company in Etobicoke.
Brandi Costain
Brandi joined Regent Park Focus in grade 9. Over the years Brandi has produced a number of interesting videos. She was the Editor-in-Chief of Catch da Flava Newspaper for three years and aspires to be a storyteller in many different mediums. Brandi graduated from Ryerson's School of Journalism in 2004 and is currently working on several projects in the field of media.
Hillaway Haile-Michael
Hillaway joined the Regent Park Focus Media Arts Program as a participant in 2003 and went on to become a youth outreach worker for Regent Park Focus. Currently Hillaway is in the transitional year program at U of T.
Annie Burns
Annie was a participant turned staff at Regent Park Focus. She is currently in her third year at York University studying History and Political Science.
